JOB DESCRIPTION

As this is a senior role, reporting into the Operations Director, you will manage a small team and will have full responsibility and autonomy for inventory control through the manufacturing cycle, optimising production levels and increasing profitability.
This is a full-time, permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Forecast and mitigate risk within the supply chain.
- Plan and implement a procurement budget with a strong focus on cost reduction.
- Improve overall Supply Chain stability.
- Develop a transparent and accurate system showing materials availability and valuation.
- Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers.
- Manage and report on supplier performance.
- Materials cost and quality ownership.
- Negotiate on pricing & terms with all suppliers.
- Work with Head of Quality to implement & maintain a robust Goods In & supplier quality check.
- Management of the day to day purchasing requirements and team
- Co-ordinate with Head of Production Engineering on engineering change notices, ensuring stock run out and efficient changeover.
- Management and KPI reporting.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant business-related field.
- Ability to influence, challenge and ‘push back’.
- High level of knowledge on Microsoft packages.
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
- Enthusiasm and real drive to achieve results.
- High level of analytical skills.
- Champion change management.
- Experience of Lean Inventory Management, Kaizen, Kanban & 5s desirable
- Ability to hit the ground running.
- Excellent record keeping and housekeeping is a must.
